Tracking Sentiment Around Presidential Candidates with LUX2016

With the primary race already flooding the news, the 2016 presidential election is just around the corner. Scrolling through the superfluous social media feed and news articles, a consumer is overwhelmed with information. ICG Solutions has announced their new powerful social analytics platform, LUX2016, that will track sentiment around trending candidates and issues, providing you with only the information you want.

Users of LUX2016 will be able to see how candidates are fairing in real-time. The system tracks all major topics including, but not limited to: jobs, immigration, foreign policy, abortion, and gun-control by monitoring all incoming tweets and news that allude to these topics. From the information collected, proprietary algorithms are applied to derive and analyze the overall sentiment, and visually reveals how people feel about each candidate. This LUX analytics platform is tailor-made to closely track the candidates and issues that matter most in the 2016 US federal and state elections.

The data incorporated into LUX2016 is collected from the Global Database of Events, Languages, and Tone (GDELT, see gdeltproject.org) and Twitter. In real-time, GDELT scours the internet and sifts through news, translating articles written in over 60 languages. Nearly instantaneously, Twitter data is aggregated, scanned and analyzed. All the user has to do is select either single or multiple candidates or topics and LUX2016 will create a visual analysis of all the data collected over a specified period of time.
